Third grade students have been learning about los deportes, or sports. I thought a class graph would be a great way for students to practice sports vocabulary while reinforcing math skills. After students helped me set up the graph and come up with a title, they each received a box on which they wrote and drew their favorite sport. Students got to come up to the graph to place their "vote". They had fun comparing results as they were put on the graph. Once the graph was complete, there was so much to talk about-- which sport was lo más (most) popular, how many students prefer each sport, etc. I hung up the graphs in my classroom and students enjoy comparing their results with the other
classes.
