El salón de clase: classroom

Here is the Bear Tavern Spanish classroom.  I was on a cart for so many years that I am so grateful to have my own space.  I presently have my room set up in a "U" formation, with 2 groups in the middle, and feel it is the best use of space.  This formation allows students to talk in groups (or with a partner) and to easily see the Epson projector.  This is my third year in this particular room and it took me the past three years to figure out the best way to arrange it!

This is our "alfombra", or rug area. All first grade classes begin here! It is where students sing a greeting song, share how they are feeling, practice conversations, discuss the calendar and play many games. In other grades students come to this area for skits, to practice conversations, plays, to hear books and for most presentations. 

This is our fifth grade display of "Todo sobre mí" ("All About Me") proyectos. Students look forward to creating these and know they will get to make them when they get to fifth grade. Students use this project to tell about themselves and practice phrases like "Me gusta" ("I like") and "Mi favorito es..." (My favorite is...) They then present them to the class in Spanish.
